In fairly short order, all that rain stopped, I eventually finished playing around online, and Christina and I drove to Falls Church for Coleman Powersports' Italian Bike Night. I admired the bikes and a couple of cars in the parking lot and showroom, and took several photos; we got free dinner of pasta, breadsticks, and alcohol-free wine (with Italian music playing in the background); I inquired about bike alarm systems and a discount coupon I have in my possession. We then sat down to actually -eat- the food, and sat through a "fashion show" of the new lines of protective gear, most of it modeled by local models volunteering their time--each of whom rode up to the catwalk area on the back of an Italian bike piloted by a leather-gear-clad guy. Before and during the show, many Ducati shirts were tossed into the crowd, as were several Ducati jackets, plus a Ducati vest worn by one of the models. I managed to score a grey Ducati polo shirt and a yellow Ducati t-shirt; both of which, alas, are size XXL.

Photos of several of the vehicles, of makes Ferrari, Maserati, and Ducati, have been added to the Italian Ride Bike Week gallery. :)

And if the Maserati wasn't enough to drool over, [livejournal.com profile] hrodvitnir offers two photos of the sweet, sweet Dodge Viper RST concept car. Ooooh.

So after all of that, I watched Nathan play some Knights of the Old Republic, including an odd bug that seems to have surfaced which returned him to an earlier sequence in the game with all of his later-in-the-game powers, then we played the 2-player mode of Halo: Combat Evolved, which featured a legitimate play-through of the first segment, then a kill-fest where we killed all of our Marines, and then spent more than a few minutes killing each other, respawning, kill, respawn, lather, rinse, repeat. The field was littered with dead cyborgs in pretty short order. :)

And then I read or listened to pretty much everything at TaylorMali.com instead of going to bed, so now it is late, but the time was well-spent. :)

(And if you're a teacher, appreciate teachers, or should appreciate teachers more than you do, you should really check him out. I was told this before, and I believed it, but I took a long time to get around to doing so, for no good reason. Don't follow my example! Go! Go now! :)
